Here’s a really interesting article and a great commentary for Best Education Apps of 2011 based on Web 2.0. Educational Technologies are continuously improving everyday. People threw out a lot of magnificent ideas over the year, and with the ever growing web applications, next year’s development speed will be overwhelming.
Douglas Crets “What I enjoyed about this list of best education applications in 2011 is that there are so many apps in this list that are not directly marketed as education apps. It speaks to my belief that many of the solutions that create better manageability and efficiency for teachers and students are not coming from straight up education vendors.
Ed tech is going to surprise so many people with how it already exists on the social web, churning massive amounts of data and helping us pinpoint the best ways to teach kids. Here’s a small slice from the list, but you should visit Larry Ferlazzo’s blog for the full scoop.”
Larry Ferlazzo “I usually just do a year-end list on Web 2.0 Applications For Education and many other topics, but it gets a little crazy having to review all of my zillion posts at once. So, to make it easier for me — and perhaps, to make it a little more useful to readers — I’m going to start publishing mid-year lists, too. These won’t be ranked, unlike my year-end “The Best…” lists, and just because a site appears on a mid-year list doesn’t guarantee it will be included in an end-of-the-year one. But, at least, I won’t have to review all my year’s posts in December…
As usual, in order to make this list, a site had to be:
* accessible to English Language Learners and non-tech savvy users.
* free-of-charge.
* appropriate for classroom use.
* completely browser-based with no download required.”
